Our mission is to substantially reduce global C02 by providing students with a way to eliminate carbon and earn cash rewards simultaneously while engaging in their everyday purchases. Our green shopping incentives don’t require you to pay more or change your behavior. Our system is easy to understand, simple to use, and allows you to make an immediate, measurable impact on the environment every time you shop at one of our participating merchants. We encourage students to lead the way and take action to reverse the daily ecological damage to our planet.
GreenCampusPoints is the only program that actually pays you to reduce C02 emissions. Our Points-based loyalty and promotion platform allows merchants to partner with and reward their customers for doing good in a unique and meaningful way. Students accumulate Points simply by choosing to shop at participating merchants. Each Point is comprised of 1 lb of carbon reduction AND a $0.01 cash reward. The cash portion of each Point can be redeemed for additional discounts on future purchases, or donated to one of our non-profit environmental and charitable partners.
Green Campus Points is a loyalty program developed at Boston University that rewards consumers for their purchases while eliminating CO2 emissions from the environment. Green Campus Points targets the university community and will be piloted at BU this fall. You have been identified by students as an organization that they would like to see participate in this pilot. In helping to test this innovative method of promoting products, you will not only drive business to your organization but you will also receive the aggregated results from the pilot

Robert MacArthur, Founder
Robert is an experienced entrepreneur, educator, and industry consultant He has founded multiple businesses (taking some to successful exits via IPOs), demonstrating extensive creativity, managerial and leadership qualities.. He was Div. Manager Polaroid Camera Products; CEO of Stocker & Yale, Inc.; founder of Antilles Yachting Corp., where he created a yacht sale-lease-back financial model now a standard in the chartering industry. He founded several catalog direct-marketing enterprises (some winning Catalog of the Year awards). Currently he serves as Executive-in-Residence for the Boston University Business Incubator program. Academic background St. Lawrence University and Harvard Business School.
Alain Hanover, Senior Strategic Advisor
Alain is Managing Director and CEO of Navigator Technology Ventures, an early-stage venture firm. He co-founded CommonAngels in 1998 and has helped raise funding and invested in over 30 privately-held companies. Prior to CommonAngels, Alain was founder, CEO, President, and Chairman of Viewlogic Systems, Inc, where he was named "Entrepreneur of the Year". Previous to Viewlogic, he held positions at Digital Equipment Corp, Dymo/Itek, and Xylogics. He serves on the board of directors of Actuality Systems, Applix Inc., Assertive Design, GateRocket, HistoRx, Renalworks, Saoirse Corp., Sionex Corp., and Tizor Corp. Alain holds SB degrees in electrical engineering and mathematics from MIT, an SM degree in applied mathematics from Harvard and an OPM degree from the Harvard Business School.
Eric Wanta, Co-Founder and CMO
Eric led the marketing functions at both Lycos, helping its portfolio of well-known brands generate more than 25 million visitors each month, and Aquent, the world´s largest marketing and creative staffing firm. Early in his career, Eric spent more than 10 years in a variety of roles on the agency/consulting side helping clients position their brands and market their products and services to consumers. Eric has a BA in Economics from Harvard College and an MBA from the Yale School of Management.
Edwin Rivera, COO
Edwin is an executive and management consultant with over 15 years of experience, specializing in business strategy, sales, distribution, operations, customer service, and finance. He served as the Regional Vice President for JPMorgan´s Institutional Trust Services business on the West Coast and the President of JPMorgan Property Exchange, the premier provider of Section 1031 exchange services. Edwin received his BA from Princeton University and his MBA from the Harvard Business School.
Kris Plakkat , CTO
Kris is technical leader and software development visionary with more than 18 years of experience that cuts across a variety of industries. His expertise ranges from enterprise-level development to product implementation for both FORTUNE 500 companies and small startups. Most recently, Kris served as VP of Engineering for Adventive and its DIY Ad Platform. In addition, he has also held senior roles with Imagitas (a Pitney Bowes company), N2n Commerce, MQube (acquired by VeriSign), and Profitlogic (acquired by Oracle), and worked at both Oracle and Digital Equipment Corporation. Kris received his BS from University of Calicut and his Masters in Applied Computer Science from College of Engineering, Trivandrum.
Vijay Kanabar, PhD, Strategic Marketing Advisor
Professor Kanabar has been a professor at Boston University since 1994, and has been consulting and teaching in the applied areas of Ecommerce and Project Management for more than 30 years. He is on the steering committee introducing BU´s MET Green Certificate curriculum and has been recognized with merit awards for outstanding teaching and research. Dr. Kanabar holds graduate degrees in Computer Science from Florida Tech and a PhD in Information Systems from University of Manitoba.
